Sometimes it makes sense to start with a clean slate. Our renovation service is aimed to deliver an exceptional lawn from seed. Our comprehensive approach allows for consistent results and satisfied customers.

What to expect: A beautiful lawn within 4-8 weeks. Great results will largely depend on your ability to temporarily keep kids & pets off the lawn. We will take care of the rest.

To ensure a high standard, this service requires the following: Lawn care program contract, properly functioning irrigation system with accessible control box. Service window is extremely limited (Aug 15-Oct 1st) Site prep will begin ~1 month prior to seeding date to allow for best results.

More info about our process…

  • Site prep - We start early using a “fallowing” method to germinate dormant weeds and kill off unwanted vegetation. This allows us to start with a “clean slate.”

  • Water management - We will set a site specific “grow-in” program and manage irrigation from start to finish.

  • Seasonal Timing - Seeding is performed between August 15th- thru October 1st to coincide with ideal conditions for establishment.

  • Top quality grass seeds - We use exclusively NTEP rated “elite” seed cultivars certified to 100% weed free. We offer perennial rye or turf type tall fescue blends.

  • Seed to soil contact - We take steps to prepare the seedbed ensuring new grass seeds have proper contact with exposed soil.

  • Fertilizer - We supplement nutrients to ensure rapid establishment of new seedlings before seasons change.

  • Compost top-dressing - When seeding we apply a thin layer of premium organic compost. This acts as a seed cover and an extra “insurance policy” to help maintain adequate moisture, soil temperature, and prevent seed loss to wildlife.

  • Water Saver treatment - We use a high quality (eco-friendly) wetting agent to assist in maintaining proper soil moisture levels. Additionally this can help prevent “wash-out” from heavy rainfall

  • Included “Grow-in program” - We ensure everything is 100% to allow for rapid establishment and exceptional results.

New grass seedlings require a little bit of additional care and attention as they mature. A few subtle nuances can make all the difference. We go the extra mile to ensure customers are satisfied with the results.

Follow-up care package includes:

Visit #1-3 - “I see some new grass…”

Blake’s Garden service: Check soil-moisture levels, perform irrigation adjustment (if needed), check for initial germination, ensure no damage or wash-out has occurred.

Visit #4 - “Starting to resemble a lawn…”

Blake’s Garden service: First mowing is carefully performed. Check soil-moisture levels, perform irrigation adjustment, first fertilizer application. Additional seed applied if needed.ensure no damage or wash-out has occurred.

Visit #5-7 -"Customer confidence is growing”

Blake’s Garden service: Continue weekly mowing, Check soil-moisture levels, perform irrigation adjustment (if needed)ensure no damage or wash-out has occurred.

Visit #8 - “You have been elected President of the HOA!”

Blake’s Garden service: Second fertilizer application, Irrigation controller is turned “OFF” (weather dependent).
