Learn more: - Blake’s Water Saver Treatment

Use of a “wetting agent” product can help improve your lawn’s ability to utilize rainfall and supplemental irrigation. Many lawns in our area grow in heavy soil types. A clay based soil is great for holding moisture however if allowed to dry out, these soils can become, “hydrophobic.” A soil that repels water can lead to surface run-off and an increase in evaporative loss. A wetting agent serves to combat this by reducing the soil’s surface tension. This allows water to more easily penetrate the surface and make its way into the lawn’s root-zone. This helps to ensure the water being applied is actually available to the plant!

For many properties, it is common to see a reduced water bill as well as improved turf quality throughout the summer months following treatment. It is important to understand the use of a wetting agent is not a substitute for proper irrigation practices. After some fine tuning to your watering schedule, you may find that a wetting agent isn’t always needed.

For established lawns, we often recommend this treatment is made two weeks prior to summer drought conditions when possible. (~June 15th)

This product will require being thoroughly watered in with a garden hose or irrigation system following treatment for maximum benefit.
